At Jet Ski Marbella, we’ve made safety the cornerstone of every experience. We apply a comprehensive protocol combining prior training, certified equipment, daily checks and strict compliance with current Spanish and Andalusian legislation. Below you’ll find detailed information on how we guarantee your peace of mind before, during and after your activity.
1. Mandatory Safety Briefing
Before getting on a jet ski, boat or towable device, you’ll receive a 10-15 minute information session including:
- Theoretical explanation and practical demonstration of handling, hand signals and kill-switch operation.
- Navigation rules on the Costa del Sol: marked zones, turning direction and minimum distances (200m from shore; 50m between jet skis).
- Emergency procedures: falling overboard, engine failure, assisted return and use of rescue boat.
- Weather conditions and real-time sea state — always verified against warnings from State Ports and the Spanish Met Office (AEMET).
Only after completing this briefing and signing acceptance of conditions and insurance can you begin the activity.
Certified Equipment & Technical Checks
- ISO 12402-5 life jackets and CE helmets for flyboard/wakeboard, disinfected and checked after each use.
- 2024-2025 model jet skis with IBR system (brake-reverse) and automatic power cut-off.
- Support boat with professional skipper within 300m, first aid kit and semi-automatic external defibrillator (AED).
- Daily mechanical inspection and up-to-date technical boat inspection (ITB).
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Water Sports Activities
To participate in our water sports activities in Marbella, such as jet ski hire, you need to be at least 18 years old. It’s also possible from age 16 with signed parental consent. For family activities like pedal boats, children can enjoy them accompanied by an adult. Please check specific age requirements for each water sports experience.
No experience is necessary to enjoy our jet skis in Marbella. We offer guided options with instructors for those without a licence. If you wish to drive a jet ski independently, you’ll need the corresponding marine licence. All activities include a prior safety explanation.
If you need to cancel or modify your booking for water sports activities in Marbella, you can do so at no additional cost by giving at least 48 hours’ notice. We also offer flexibility in case of bad weather, with the possibility of rescheduling or full refund.
We offer water sports activities in Marbella throughout the year, though availability may vary by season. Boat trips and private excursions operate year-round, whilst activities like jet ski hire operate mainly in spring and summer. Please check availability for your desired date.
